The festival takes place in the Sudanese capital Khartoum between January 21and 27. * Myanmar (Burmese) Film Festival of Los Angeles #10, 2017 The Myanmar Film Festival of Los Angeles was first launched in 2007 by the NetMAA Association. The Myanmar Film Festival of Los Angeles promotes Myanmar arts and culture, bringing the growing Myanmar community together to celebrate the culture and network with other Asian communities, filmmakers, and artists. The Film Festival provides a rare glimpse into the country of Myanmar. We strongly believe in the power of media, particularly film, to nurture and give voice to our community, and want to expand the experience and culture of Myanmar Americans throughout our community and beyond. The festival brings a greater awareness and appreciation for Myanmar (Burmese) culture, not only to the Myanmar-American community, but to the greater Los Angeles community in general.
