  • Introduction
In 2017, we want to commemorate and celebrate the 50th anniversary of National Service. Books, movies and television drama regarding National Service are readily available, but they can never replace the fondest memories of each and every Singaporean soldier. From the sweat and tears of arduous trainings, laborious overnight outfield missions, to forging fierce comradery and precious friendships – these are valuable memories and unforgettable experiences. It is irrelevant now to say that a good man does not go into the army. At least one male in a Singapore household would have gone into army, and he truly turns into a man only when he had experience the army life. We do not seem to realize the efforts of our NS-men even as they are all around us. This television serial therefore aims to show the truest side of our NS-men, regulars and NSFs, so that the public can come to understand their struggles and pains in their day-to-day living. We also wish to encourage people of ambitions to join the Singapore Volunteer Corps. Want to know how the army boys developed steel-like mental strength in which it is required and translated to other aspects of their lives? On top of this, the show presents the integrated forces of our air, land and sea defenses with real-life performances which is definitely a must-watch.
